How do Our Continuous Glucose
Monitoring Systems work?

You will place the CGM device onto your skin. It has a sensor that measures your glucose or sugar levels 24 hours a day. It has a transmitter that sends all the data collected to your cell phone or a wearable device like a smartwatch.

The sensors are placed under the skin of your belly or the back of your arm. The process is quick and painless. The sensor’s transmitter sends information to a wireless monitor often clipped to your belt. It displays the sugar level in intervals of 1-,5-,10- or 15 minutes. It all depends on the settings.

If your sugar or glucose levels drop dangerously low or spike too high, the monitor will sound an alarm. Our CGMS is easy to use and will help you easily manage your health. The device helps you know how much insulin you need in your body. It also helps your doctor evaluate the best method to manage your diabetes, including:

  • Choosing the best exercise plan for you
  • How much insulin do you need in a day
  • the dose of insulin you need
  • The number of meals and snacks you need every day

Why Use CGMS To Track Your Blood Glucose Levels?

Unlike glucose meters, where you need to keep measuring the glucose levels in your blood at intervals throughout the day, a CGM device records your sugar levels throughout the day and night, Continuos Glucose Monitoring. The Freestyle Libre will also determine your range and if you test outside of your normal average, the CGM device will alert you to either a High or Low Sugar Level.:

Who Can Use CGM?

Please note that CGM is not for every person with diabetes. Your doctor can recommend a CGM if they feel that you need it. You can, however, check eligibility here to see if you qualify to use our devices.

Your general practitioner will often recommend a CGM if you have:

  • Blood glucose levels that are too low (Hypoglycemia) or if you have very high blood sugar levels (Hyperglycemia).
  • An insulin pump
  • Gestational diabetes
  • Spikes in low and high blood glucose levels for no reason

Children can use our CGM devices from 2 years old to adults. The device’s information is interpreted in apps that help parents and caregivers take better care of patients with diabetes.
